The Scandinavians tend to have a wider perspective than what is usually the case among colleagues in other parts of the world. They are also likely to pick up problems that concern practicing accountants because they are out there in the field. Or maybe there is no time for long term fieldwork any more even in Scandinavia?
In this book we have tried to bring together a group of interesting Scandinavian accounting scholars in order to demonstrate what we are up to here. It turns out that we have tended to bring to light new accounting objects that the authors think we should pay attention to. We think that they do a good job of widening the horizons for accounting research and of demonstrating where interesting questions remain unanswered today. The reader is invited to participate!
